Ehhez a "Definitive Edition"-höz, rĂĄadĂĄsul angol nyelven azonban most jutottam hozzĂĄ elĆször.
Ăgy egy kissĂ© mĂ©g közelebb Ă©rezhettem magamhoz Anne Ă©letĂ©t, aggĂĄlyait, a szĂĄmĂĄra a boldogsĂĄgot jelentĆ legkisebb aprĂłsĂĄgokat, Ă©s termĂ©szetesen a sorstragĂ©diĂĄjĂĄt is.
Holokauszt-irodalom irĂĄnt Ă©rdeklĆdĆ olvasĂłknak alapmƱ, a vilĂĄg több orszĂĄgĂĄban kötelezĆ olvasmĂĄny közĂ©piskolĂĄban. Ăn a magam rĂ©szĂ©rĆl az emlĂ©kezet fenntartĂĄsa miatt Ă©rzem fontosnak megismerni ennek az alig 16 Ă©ves lĂĄnynak a gondolatait.
A kötet megjelent magyar nyelven Anne Frank naplĂłja cĂmmel
Olvasni kevĂ©sbĂ© kedvelĆknek szĂvbĆl ajĂĄnlom a BBC nĂ©gy rĂ©szes, DVD-n is megjelent minisorozatĂĄt. Illetve Ă©n szemĂ©ly szerint nagyon szeretnĂ©m egyszer megnĂ©zni Ari Folman Where Is Anne Frank? (Hol van Anne Frank?) cĂmƱ filmjĂ©t is.
ĂrtĂ©kelĂ©s
5/∞ - FelbecsĂŒlhetetlen Ă©rtĂ©kƱ kordokumentum
It will be an interesting task to write a review about this book because various reasons. First of all I generally think that about a diary which is a document about World War II above all else, is insanely hard to write a decent review. Why? Because I think we can't handle these documents the way we do with stories based entierly or partially on fiction. We are extremly lucky we can read these stories, and without exception tragedies. A diary holds someone else's innermost thoughts which one couldn't share with any human being only with paper. Because it's as Anne says, more parient than people. These documents are about people who lived and breathed in this world not even so long ago. And they fought against their destiny as much as they could, no matter what. We should respect that.
Second of all, the experience was interesting, because I've read this book and these diary entries in Hungarian countless times so far. I have the Hungarian version on my shelf for years. But. I've never read it in English, let alone this Definitive Edition.
I honestly find it amazing, how many versions this diary has. And it's even more awesome that none of these are the ones Anne originally wanted to publish. Except of course if you are lucky enough to have an edition which contains all versions of the diary. I have to admit, I wish to put my hands on that edition sometime in the future.
For me it was an interesting experience to read this edition because it contained parts I haven't seen in the Hungarian edition I have. And with this, I felt Anne's life and destiny even closer to my own life. Not just her worries but the tiny things what made her happy in that closed up place. And of course her tragedy too. She deserved better. All victims of the Holocaust deserved better.
Through her diary, Anne grew up in front of our eyes. Figuratively. I think we, who are lucky enough to live in peace (well sort of peace, really...), we cannot even imagine, how it feels to be locked up, to see the same couple of people, day after day for years. Anne had to live this way in her teenage days. Just for the flower of her life to drop its petals before it could fully bloom.
We simply have to remember Anne Frank and the victims of the Holocaust. We can't let this happen once again.
Recommendation is almost pointless here. If you like or are interested in Holocaust literature, sooner or later you will read this book. It's on the shelves of school libraries as well. Many places in this wide world I hope. I for one find it important to read this, because we need to remember.
If you don't really like to read, BBC has an excellent mini series about the diary in 4 parts. Also if you have a chance watch the movie 'Where is Anne Frank?' directed by Ari Folman. I wish I could watch it soon, too.
