Bevallom, a Vándorló palota után egy kicsit tartottam ettől a résztől. Az első kötetet egy kicsit hosszabb időbe került megszokni, abba belerázódni. Nem tudtam, ezzel a résszel kapcsolatban mire számítsak. Hát nem csalódtam. Ugyanis nem tudtam letenni a könyvet.

Történetünk főhőse Abdullah, egy szőnyegkereskedő, aki álomvilágba, álmodozásba menekül idegesítő rokonai elől, és aki a történet elején egy varázsszőnyeg büszke tulajdonosa lesz. Megismerkedik álmai hajadonjával, ám a lányt elragadja egy gonosz dzsinn, mielőtt frigyre léphetnének. Abdullah a lány keresésére indul, útja során pedig sok érdekes karakterrel hozza össze a sors. Többek között egy lámpásban lakó szellemel, egy katonával és két kóbor macskával. A történetben természetesen szinte senki nem az, akinek elsőre tűnik. 

Engem szinte teljesen magával ragadott a történet. Az elejétől fogva nagyon együtt tudtam érezni a főhőssel. A kalandok kezdetétől pedig tényleg le sem tudtam tenni a könyvet. Arról nem beszélve, ami azután történt, hogy a szereplők kezdtek újra valódi alakjukban feltűnni és újra találkozhattunk az előző kötet néhány fő karakterével.

Összességében hozzám hasonló gyógyíthatatlan álmodozók érdekesnek és könnyen olvashatónak fogják találni ezt a könyvet. Én nagyon-nagyon élveztem. Remélem, az utolsó rész is valami hasonlóvá fogja kiforrni magát.

5/5* - Több, mint a felét gyakorlatilag egy nap alatt olvastam el. Tényleg nem tudtam letenni. Ez pedig csak jelent valamit.

I have to admit, after I finished Howl's Moving Castle, I had my own doubts about this book. It was kind of hard for me to get used to the first book. I did not know what I should expect from this one. I should not have to be worried at all. Truth is, I hardly could put the book down.

The protagonist of our story is a carpet merchant called Abdullah. He tends to escape among his dreams, daydreams from his annoying relatives. And who would be, coincidentally, a proud owner of a magic carpet at the very beginning of the story. He finds the maiden of his dreams, but a djinn abducts her on the very night of their marriage. Abdullah of course starts to look for her right away. And during his long journey he meets some truly peculiar companions. A djinn of the lamp, a soldier and a stray cat and her kitten, just to list the more important characters. Naturally almost no one truly is as they seem to be. 

The story positively dragged me with itself. I really could understand Abdullah right from the beginning, with his daydreaming and his relaives. Then after his adventures started, I really could not put the book down. Not to mention when our characters started to returne to their true forms and I got to meet some of the main characters from the original story. 

All in all I think, incurable dreamers, like me will enjoy this story. They will find it interesting and easy to read. I for one, really really loved it. I hope the last book will be similar to this one as well.
