Rick Riordan: The Titan's Curse (Percy Jackson and the Olympians 3.)

A kedvenc kötetem az Olympians sorozatból. Az alap történetet és a karaktereket már nem hiszem, hogy be kell mutatnom. Azoknak sem, akik most először követik nyomon velem Percy és a többiek kalandjait. Úgyhogy egyből a közepébe csapva, nagy vonalakban nézzük, aktuálisan mi történt karaktereinkkel.

A történet elején Grover két új félisten nyomára bukkan, és Percy, Annabeth és Thalia segítségét kéri, hogy a testvérpár biztonságban a Félvér Táborba jusson. Csakhogy az ellenség is mozgolódik. Ezúttal egy bizonyos Generális szövetkezik Luke-kal Kronosz feltámasztásának érdekében. Mondanom sem kell, a két félvért ők is igyekeznek maguk mellé állítani.

Az eredmény az lesz, hogy először Annabeth-nek, majd az időközben színre lépő Artemis-nek is nyoma vész. Percy-t és Artemis első vadászát, Zoë-t azonban furcsa álmok vezetik, így a kis csapat feladata lesz, hogy a téli napfordulóig, az Istenek éves-rendes gyűléséig megtalálják őket.

Felkutatásukra a létező legkevésbé összeillő csapat verődik össze, akiknek legelőször meg kell tanulni bízni egymásban a közös cél elérése érdekében. Mindemellett a sorozat ezen része az előzőekhez képest jóval komorabb és sötétebb. Ez az első rész, ahol számolni kell szeretett karakterek elvesztésével és ennek hosszútávú következményeivel. Ennek ellenére, ahogy mondtam, nekem ez a kedvenc részem az első ötös szériából.

Hogy miért, azt nem tudnám megmondani. Talán, sőt valószínűleg a di Angelo tesók, vagyis, hát persze inkább Nico miatt, aki ikonikus szereplővé növi ki magát. Nem mellesleg a főszereplők között is egyre látványosabban alakulnak a dolgok. Percy Annabeth elvesztése fölött érzett riadalmának forrása rajtuk kívül szinte mindenki számára nyilvánvaló. Ez pedig rendkívül bájos. Sosem felejtem el, hogy mikor először olvastam, kijelentettem, hogy "Percy olyan átlátszó, mint az üveg." Ezt továbbra is tartom, és imádni fogom végignézni a további fejlődést ezen a téren. Úgyhogy kalandra fel, és irány egy bizonyos furfangosan felépített labirintus. 

Ajánlás? Kell ez még? Görög mitológia rajongóknak kötelezően ajánlott!

5/5* - Szerintem a fentiekben megindokoltam. A kedvenc sorozatom kedvenc része. Persze, hogy nem adok kevesebbet. 

My favourite book from the Olympians series. I don't think that, at this point, I need to introduce the story or the characters. Probably not for those either who follow my footsteps for the first time throughout all these adventures. So let's dive into the story and check out what happens with our characters in this installment of the story.

At the beginning, Grover finds two new demigods and asks for help from Percy, Annabeth and Thalia, for the siblings to safely reach the boarders of Camp Half-Blood. But the enemy is also stirring. This time a so-called General makes alliances with Luke to resurrect Kronos, the Titan lord. Needless to say they also want the two Half-Bloods to enforce their team. 

As a result, first Annabeth and then Artemis, who in the meantime appeared at the scene go missing. Percy and Artemis's lieutenant, Zoë are led by strange dreams, so the little group get it as a quest to find the two of them until Winter Solstice, the annual meeting of the Gods.

Let's just say the group is not something you usually call a perfect match. So first they have to learn to trust each other if they want to reach their goal in time. They have the same reason after all. I have to mention that we reached a certain point in the series. From now on it gets considerably darker and moodier. This is the frist book in which we lose some of our beloved characters for good. And we need to face all the consequences. Despite all of this, like I said, this is my favourite book from this series.

I can't even tell you the reason. Probably it's because the di Angelo siblings. Mostly because of Nico, who grows up to be an iconic chaarcter in the story. Not to mention something is brewing between our main characters as well. The source of Percy's fear over the possibility of loosing Annabeth is crystal clear to everybody except for themselves. And I find this kind of adorable. I will never forget that when I read this book for the first time, I was like "Percy is as see through as a pane of glass." And I still agree with myself in this, and I will love to watch how this relationship will grow in the next two books and onward. So let's dive into the depth of a masterfully built labyrinth. 

Recommendation? Do you still need one? It's a must read for everyone who loves Greek mythology!
