Az aratás hajnala szerintem az év legjobban várt folytatása volt nálam. Azzal együtt, hogy a könyv végkimenetele az alap trilógiából mindenki számára ismerős, az utószóban rejtőzik néhány Easter egg, ügyesen elrejtett utalás erre a bizonyos trilógiára, amire, lévén 10 éve olvastam utoljára a könyvet, már nem emlékeztem. Ez pedig igencsak bökte a csőrömet. Úgyhogy gondoltam egyet és kihoztam az eredeti hármast is a könyvtárból. Elképesztő, hogy mennyire magával ragadott ez a rész.

Annak idején az első részt szerettem a legjobban emlékeim szerint. Tetszett a történet felépítése, hogy rászánta az időt arra, hogy megismerjük ezt a disztópikus világot, és magának a viadalnak a rendszerét, a mögötte húzódó politikai machinációkat. Maga a viadal pedig természetesen egyetlen unalmas pillanatot sem tartogat. Vagyis számomra nem tartogatott.

A karakterek hozzák mindazt, amit ilyen helyzetben lévő tizenévesektől várni lehet. Igyekeznek életben maradni, más kárára is. Akkor is, ha a morált a hideg vér és a stratégia váltja fel. Nem egy pozitív világkép, de hát ez a disztópia lényege. A karakterek motivációja viszont nagyon erős. Ezt sokukban becsültem, attól függetlenül, hogy hány karaktert sikerült megkedvelnem. Mert belőlük is akad pár.

Bevallom, jó érzés volt újra belekezdeni a trilógiába, mert vakuemlékeken túl nem sokra emlékeztem a történetből. Nagyon nem való mindenkinek. Azoknak főleg nem, akik nem bírják az erőszakot. Nekem most valamiért nagyon betalált. Passzol az aktuális hangulatomhoz.

5/5 - Szeretem ezt a sztorit, és ahogyan Collins ír

Sunrise on the Reaping was the most awaited sequel of the year for me. Granted everyone who have read the original trilogy knew the ending of that book. But some interesting Easter eggs and clever foreshadowing was hidden in the epilogue to which I didn't remember since I read the first three books like 10 years ago. And me not remembering key points bothered me. So I went back to the library and borrowed the whole trilogy for a reread. And I really enjoyed this one.

I liked the first book the most back then too as far as I can remember. I liked that Collins took her time to actually build up her own dystopian world. She worked out the system of the Hunger Games properly. Not to mention the political regime in Panem and the Districts. For me the Games itself was not disappointing or annoying or boring at all either. 

The characters gave me everything I was waiting for from a bunch of teenagers under these circumstances. They just wanted to stay alive no matter the cost. No matter that basic human emotions got overwritten by cold blood and strategic thinking. This is not a world loded with hope, by any means, but this is what makes a dystopia good. The motivational base of the characters is incredibly strong. That's another thing I appreciated no matter how much I liked or did not like certain characters. Let me tell you, I did like many of them. 

I have to admit, it felt good to start reading this trilogy again. Because I didn't have more than just a couple of flashing memories about it. This does not suit everybody though. If you don't like violence, avoid this book. Seriously. Though for some reason this time it hit the bull's eye for me. It maches my current mood.
