A történet hangsúlya ezen a ponton már nem a világépítésen van. Sokkal inkább középpontba kerül a politikai berendezkedés, valamint az annak megdöntésére irányuló munkálkodás. A Viadal légkörét is ez hatja át. Vagyis ez a történet tökéletes átmenetet képez az első és a harmadik kötet között.
Emlékszem, annak idején nem voltam kibékülve a politikai felhang túlsúlyba kerülésével. Valahogy most is furcsa volt, hogy a Viadal csak a történet második felében kerül terítékre. A szövetségek, és ezzel együtt a régi-új karakterek elvitték az egész történetet. Furcsa, vagy sem, az Aratás hajnala ismeretében sokkal érdekesebb volt a Futótűz története is. Nagyon sok utalás nyert utólag értelmet.
Rájöttem, hogy én szeretem ezt a történetet és szeretném a polcomon is tudni. Mert ez tényleg egy számomra érdekes, disztópikus világ, ahol még van értelme az emberi érzéseknek. Ugyanakkor markáns társadalomkritika és nagy hanggal szólal fel a diktatórikus berendezkedés ellen. Sok mindenben rokon húrokat pendített meg, ez kétségtelen.
A könyv azonban továbbra sem szól mindenkinek. Akiknek nem ajánlottam az első részt, azoknak nagyon nem ajánlom ezt sem, Akik viszont szerették az első részt, tegyenek próbát ezzel is. Nem teljesen lesz ugyanolyan az élmény. Lehet, hogy érnie kell. Lehet, hogy sokat. De megéri kivárni. Nekem legalábbis nagyon megérte. Előre sajnálom, hogy mi lesz a harmadik rész végével.

5/5 - Kellett hozzá jó 10 év, mire megtanultam élvezni ezt a történetet, és ez tényleg a két előzménykötet érdeme. 
The events of the Hunger Games continue. Katniss and Peeta prepare for their Victory Tour and after that their grand Wedding Ceremony. But the Districts are in frenzy and in a rebellious mood. Katniss should calm the citizens down during the Tour, but her presence just pőurs oil on the fire. The 50th Annual Hunger Games is a special one. The competitors are selected out from the previous victors. And thus Katniss and Peeta return to the Arena.
The focus of the story is not on the worldbuilding anymore. It's more about the current political regime and all the trial and errors to conquer it. This is what seeps into the atmosphere of the Arena as well. So this book is the perfect bridge between the first book and the third one.
I remember when I first read the book, I didn't really like all this political stuff. And yes, it was strange this time as well that the Games started only at the second half of the book. The allies and the old-new characters lifted up the whole story on their shoulders and carried it. Strange or not knowing the story of Sunrise on the Reaping, the events in Catching Fire held more importance. I finally understood most of the Easter Eggs.
I figured that I love this story enough and I want it on my shelf. Because for me this really is an interesting dystopian world. A place where human feelings are still important despite all the horrible events. Meanwhile it is a strong criticism of society a fresh and loud voice against totalitarian politics. I have to admit, I found some similarities...
The story is still not for everyone though. If the first book was not for you, this one is not for you either. If you liked the first book, give this one a chance as well. It's not the exact same, some time may need to pass before you start to understand this book. But it's worth it. I'm speaking from experience. I'm afraid of what's going to happen in the last book.

5/5 - I needed almost 10 years to start to enjoy this book. And I really have to say thank you to both of the prequels for it.
