Könyvhéten vettem meg ezt a könyvet, nagyjából csak azért, hogy vegyek könyvet az eseményen. Nem gondoltam volna magam sem, hogy relatíve gyorsan sorra kerül. De egy kihíváshoz most kifejezetten jól jött. Szóval elolvastam, de nem igazán tudom, hogy mit is hámozhatnék ki belőle. Iszonyatosan szürreális, és helyenként kifejezetten gyomorforgató volt. Az illusztrációk, bár zseniálisak, néha bizony egyenesen ijesztőek voltak. 

A történet egy kisfiúról, egy öreg emberről, egy Birkaemberről és egy Szép Lányról szól. A fiú a városi könyvtár alagsorában találja magát bezárva, arra kényszerítve, hogy egy idegen témáról szerezzen ismereteket, csak azért, hogy később kiszívhassák tudással megtelt agyát. Undi, igaz? Szerintem is az. A vége természetesen egy sikeres szökés az öregtől, ami után a Birkaember és a Szép Lány eltűnik, a fiú pedig hazamegy, mintha mi sem történt volna.

Nagyjából ennyi az egész. Rövid, egy röpke óra alatt elolvasható, de annál pszichóbb történet, amivel nemcsak, hogy nem tudtam mit kezdeni, de még elég nyomasztó érzéseket is hagyott maga után. 

Nem is tudom, mit mondhatnék róla még. Aki most ismerkedik az író munkásságával, inkább valamelyik másik művét vegye először kézbe, nehogy elmenjen az egésztől a kedve.

5/? - Esküszöm, nem tudom, hogy értékelhetném egy skálán. Azzal sem vagyok tisztában igazán, hogy mit olvastam. 

I bought this book at our National Book Week, basically because I always need to buy at least one book at an event like that. I wouldn't have thought that I would have a reason to pick it up from my shelf this quickly. But it came handy for a challenge on one of the bookish social media sites. So I've read it, and honestly, I don't know what I should think about it. This book is very surreal and at times, it's really disgusting even. The illustrations are like pictures made by a genius but yeah, sometimes those frightened me as well.

The story is about a little boy, an old man a sheep man and a pretty girl. The boy gets locked into the basment of the city library, and he needs to learn about pretty peculiar, not to say a bit boring topics, just for the old man who later wants to eat his brain, full of knowledge. Disgusting, yeah? I think so too. At the end, of course all of them successfully escape from the library, the sheep man and the pretty girl vanish and the boy just goes home as if nothing happened. 

And that is all. I could sum the whole story up in like one paragraph. It's short, I read it under an hour if I remember correctly. But this story is borderline crazy. Not only couldn't I handle it but it left a feeling like something was sitting on my chest. 

Honestly I don't know what more should I tell. If you are not yet familiar with the author's style, please pick something else for your first try. I fear this would take your interest away.
