Nobuhiro Watsuki: Rurouni Kenshin Vol. 2-4.

Ahogy ígértem, most már így szakaszosan fogok írogatni a Kenshin mangákról. Jelentem, egészen tegnap előttig teljesen jól haladtam a naponként egy manga elfogyasztásával. Viszont az elmúlt két napban annyira fáradt voltam, hogy még azokra sem volt megfelelő agykapacitásom. Amint ezt a bejegyzést megírtam, megyek, és folytatom az olvasást.

Ha minden igaz, korábban említettem, hogy szeretnék beállni a 4 kötetenként megírt értékelésre. Borítóképek tekintetében egy nyulfarknyi problémát okoz, de úgy határoztam, hogy azt fogom minden bejegyzéshez beilleszteni, ami a 4 közül nekem a legjobban tetszett. Ha valaki kíváncsi az összes borítóra, azt akár már most megnézheti ITT.

Nos, ami a történetet illeti, a mozgalmas első rész után a most tárgyalt 3 rész egy kicsit ellaposodni látszott. Ami igazából valamilyen szempontból érthető is. Fel kellett építeni a főszereplő gárda csapatát, akikkel nem kevesebb, mint 28 kötetet fogunk együtt tölteni. Ebben az első 4 részben megismerhettük a Kenshin-gumit. Azaz magát Kenshint (már amennyire hagyta magát megismerni), Kaorut, Yahiko-t, Sanosukét (aki nekem csak Sano, excuse me, imádom a karaktert) és Megumit. És nagyjából ki is fújt a változatosságok sora. 

A történetek nagyjából úgy épültek fel, hogy:
Jön egy új karakter - meg kell menteni - Kenshin meg Sano megy rosszfiúkkal harcolni, míg Kaouru meg Yahiko a dojoban melegíti a fürdővizet - megmentik a tagot - Kenshin-gumi egy új taggal bővül. Vége.

Egyrészt ez így a negyedik kötet végére kezdett rettenetesen unalmassá válni. Szerencsére, így, hogy már az ötödik kötetet elolvastam, mondhatom, hogy ez után kissé kitekintgetünk a dobozból.
Másrészt, most, hogy ezt a történetvezetési szálat leírtam, valami szöget ütött a fejembe... Emberek, Kaoru egy dojo tulajdonosa, ergo tuti, hogy van vér a pucájában (aki ismeri a sztorit, az tudja, hogy VAN vér a pucájában), erre, valószínűleg csak azért, mert nő, mindenből kimarad és a hős pasiknak melegít fürdővizet?! Mind me, Watsukitól, mint embertől eddig se voltam elragadtatva, de ez most így elgondolkodtatott...

Szóval összességében ez az első 4 rész arra volt hivatott valószínűleg, hogy az első rész megragadja és berántsa az olvasót, hogy a következő 3 részben felépítse nekünk a teret, az időt, és a karaktergárdát, akikkel még 24 köteten át kalandozni fogunk. Nem mondom, hogy nem lassú egy kicsit, de valószínűleg szükséges. És ha lehet hinni a tapasztalatoknak, az anime is lassan indul, majd felpörög, és abba se lehet hagyni. Remélem, a mangákkal is elárünk lassan erre a szintre.

As promised, from now on I'll try to write my reviews about manga version Kenshin in little episodes. I was kinda proud of myself up until the day before yesterday because I could read one volume every day. Though in the last 2 days I was so tired, my brain couldn't function, so I stopped reading kinda everything. I didn't have enough power in me even for the mangas. I swear, I'll type up this entry and run to continue the series.

I think I mentioned it before that I want to go with a review after every four volume. It will cause a tiny bit of problem with the cover picture, but I decided to use that one I like the most from the last 4 volumes I have read. If you want to see all the covers, click HERE and go ahead. I think all of them are pretty. So it worth a peek. 

Well, speaking of the story, after the exciting first volume the next three was like... meh. Kinda sorta the same circle of things happen in all three volumes. Okay, it's understandable in a way. Watsuki needed to build up (or rather draw up) Team Kenshin as Yahiko calls themselves, since we will go on adventures together in no less than 28 volumes in total. So in the first 4 volumes we get to know Team Kenshin aka Kenshin-gumi. It means Kenshin himself (as well as he let us know him), Kaoru, Yahiko, Sanosuke (who is just Sano for me, excuse me, I love that character) and Megumi. And like... that's all.

The stories kinda go like this:
A new character comes - he or she needs to be saved - Kenshin and Sano go to fight with bad guys while Kaouru and Yahiko staying in the dojo to warm up water for the bath - the character is saved - Kenshin-gumi has a new member. End of story.

First things first. At the end of Vol 4. it started to become gravely boring. Luckily I've already read Vol. 5 and it starts to peek out of the box. 
The other thing is... As I sketched up this storyline, something hit me on the head. Kaoru is a master of a dojo, yes? So she is supposed to be kinda brave (Those who have read or seen the story know that Kaoru is actually FREAKING brave), and yet all she has to do is staying behind and warming up bath water fot the men? Assumingly just because she is a woman? I mean wow. My opinion of Watsuki as a person was not exactly the best until now either, but it's just made me think...

All in all the first 4 volumes are most likely for 2 things. The first volume grabbed the readers and pulled them in, and in the next volumes the time, the space and the characters started tu build up. I hope we can go on great adventures with them in the remaining 24 volumes. I won't say it's not slow, because it is, but it's probably necessary. Besides according to those who have seen the anime it starts pretty slowly too, and then dial up and it's hard to finish. I hope we are at this part of the mangas too already.

5/4.5 - That was the worst grade I gave to Vol. 4.
