Sarah J. Maas: A Court of Silver Flames (A Court of Thorns and Roses 4.)

A könyvhöz írt magyar és angol értékeléseket elnézve, így, hogy én magam is befejeztem a könyvet, az jutott eszembe, hogy egyfajta írói húzást, a könyvbe írt csavart olvasó és olvasó mennyire másként kezel.

Az Ezüst lángok udvara Nesta könyve. Nesta pedig az egész sorozatban egy elképesztően megosztó karakter volt. Valószínűsíthető, hogy az egyes olvasói reakciók ebből fakadnak. Hogy ki mennyire szerette eleve Nesta karakterét. 

Én személy szerint az elejétől fogva kedveltem ls tiszteltem őt, főleg a vasakarata miatt, ami az elejétől kezdve sem engedte átverni őt, sőt segített neki a saját személyes bosszújában.

Ugyanez a vasakarat segített neki abban hogy testileg-lelkileg jobbá legyen saját magánál és mivel szerettem a karakterét, szerettem nézni ezt a folyamatot is. Engem is pozitív érzésekkel töltött el, hogy volt számára út.

Nem állítom azonban, hogy minden problémától mentes volt a könyv, és a kritikák ezen része alaptalan. Valahogy minden túl gyorsan történt ebben a könyvben. Értem én, hogy nem állt rendelkezésre három könyv ahhoz, hogy Nesta teljes karakterfejlődését körbe járjuk (amiben egyébként szerintem sokkal több a potenciál, mint Feyre esetében), de így kapkodó volt, és a felépített világ történelméhez képest nem kicsit hiteltelen. 

És, ha már itt tartunk... A fókusz csúsztatás annyiban furcsa volt, hogy valahogy elhidegültünk az Éjszaka Udvarának többi, eddig nagyon szeretett szereplőjétől. Mivel Nesta-szemszög, ez történetileg érthető, de azért egy kicsit nyomasztő volt. Az érem másik oldalán viszont ott van, hogy Azriel egy lépéssel közelebb kerül az olvasóhoz. 

A karakterekkel kapcsolatban pedig még egy-két megjegyzés. Rettenetesen fura volt Cassian-t, mint az egyik legrettegettebb Iryll harcost szerelmes kiskutyaként látni. Az ő szavai, nem az enyémek.A végére már talán egy kicsit túl sok is lett a romantika két harcos alkathoz képest.

Összességében? Ha az ember egy izgalmas fantasy-ra vágyik, akkor mindenképpen jó választás lehet a könyv. Főleg, ha ismeri és kedveli a sorozat előző részeit. Nem hibátlan, de elég szórakoztató. Így, hogy komolyabban volt időm leülni vele, kifejezetten gyorsan fogytak a lapjai. A műfaj, a sorozat és Nesta kedvelőinek kifejezetten ajánlom.

5/4 - Vannak benne erős túlzások, de szerintem összességében egy szrakoztató, jól felépített és valahol még tanulságosnak is mondható olvasmány

I have to confess that I have an awful reading habbit. I tend to read reviews about a book I'm reading at the certain moment. I did this while reading A Court of Silver Flames too. And according to the reviews I read in both English and Hungarian a certain thought came to my mind. It also depends on the reader how he or she sees certain twists and turns planted into the story and the characters. 

A Court of Silver Flames is Nesta's book. And she was a very controversial character throughout the whole series. Probably that is the exact reason of the very controversial reviews as well. All of it depends on how much the reader liked or appreciated Nesta.

I for one have loved her and respected her ever since the beginning of the series. I loved her because of her iron will. Because it didn't let her to be fooled and it helped her take her own revenge for everything that had happened to her. 

The same iron will helped her to be a better person than herself. And since I loved her so dearly I was really happy to follow her on her journey. It filled me with all the positive emotions as well. Seeing that she had a way no matter how hard it was right in front of her.

I won't say though that this story was problem-free and that the critical reviews were baseless. Everything happened waaay too fast in this book. I understand that we didn't have a whole trilogy to unfurl the whole length of Nesta's character developement in detail (even though her character holds much more potential than Feyre's in my honest opinion), but it was too rushed like this and just didn't fit in the history of the world the author had built up until then.

Speaking of which. The focus shifted to Nesta all right, but with this we got farther from the rest of the Night Court inhabitants then I'd have preferred. They seemed too distant and aloof. Okay this was Nesta's POV so in story it's understandable, but still. It was strange. On the other hand, Azriel took a step closer to the readers' hearts.

One more comment about the characters. It was very very strange to see Cassian one of the most feared Illyrian warriors as a lovesick puppy. His words, not mine. The ending was a tad bit too romantic for two trained warriors if you ask me. 

All in all? It was an interesting fantasy with full of well-written twists and turns. If you've read the previous books and especially if you liked Nesta, give this a try. It's not problem-free but it's entertaining. Now that I had time to read it properly, I'd say it was a page turner. I really recommend it if you love the genre the author and/or Nesta'a character.

5/4 - There are problems but all in all this story is entertaiming, well-written and on a certain level, it has things to teach to the reader.
