Nem először olvasom a sorozatnak ezt a részét eredeti nyelven sem, mégis jó darabig nagyon lassan haladtam vele. Sokszor kaptam magam azon, hogy elkalandozott a figyelmem, és vissza kellett lapoznom, hogy megértsem, miről is van szó. Gyakran azzal is nyűglődtem, hogy egyáltalán magam elé képzeljem a leírtakat. Ennek oka lehetett az is, hogy még nagyon az előző kötet hatása alatt álltam, és, hát az időbeli ugrás sem vált előnyére annak, hogy jó helyen érezzem magam ebben a világban.

A történet 200 évvel az előző kötet után játszódik. Két releváns dolog ebből az elképesztően hosszú időszakból. A Rosszak azóta nem nyertek tündérmesékben és minden negyedik évben eltűnik két 12+ éves gyermek egy bizonyos Gavaldon nevű faluból, hogy egyikük a Jók, másikuk a Rosszak iskolájának tanulója legyen. 

Történetünk egyik főszereplője Sophie, a klasszikus szépség, aki alig várja, hogy elrabolják, és meg van győződve róla, hogy tökéletes hercegnő válna belőle a Jók között. A másik lány pedig Agatha, akiről mindenki azt hiszi, hogy boszorkány, tehát csakis a Rosszak között lehet számára hely. Azon a végzetes napon valóban kettejüket viszik el az iskolába, de meglepő módon a várttal ellentétes oldalon kötnek ki, A lányok maguk is meg vannak győződve a tévedésről, és ennek nyomán mindkettejükben különböző vágyak fogalmazódnak meg, Sophie be akarja bizonyítani, hogy Jó, míg Agatha haza akar jutni a barátnőjével. Miután azonban a Storian elkezdi írni a meséjüket, rá kell döbbenniük, hogy kívánságaik beteljesüléséért hosszú utat kell még bejárniuk. Melynek során muszáj lesz megismerniük saját magukat.

Nos, mint mondtam, sokáig nehezen haladtam ezzel a könyvvel. Egy ponton túl azonban azt vettem észre, hogy nem tudom elengedni a történetet és letenni a könyvet. Annyira magával ragadott, hogy csak olvastam és olvastam egyik fejezetet a másik után. Ahogy a karakterek, úgy én is megtaláltam a helyem ebben a világban megint. A történet vége pedig kifejezetten izgalmasan alakul, ami egyrészt bőven kárpótol a kezdeti nehézségekért, másrészt pedig Rafal rövid megjelenésével egyfajta megnyugvást is hoz.

Meserajongók figyelmébe kifejezetten ajánlom. Egy elképesztően jól felépített kalandokkal és megoldandó problémákkal teli világ, amiben épp ezek a jellegzetességek biztosítanak teret a karaktereknek az önismeretre és fejlődésre. Fontos kérdéseket boncolgató írás remek környezetben. Gyerekeknek és gyereklelkű felnőtteknek egyaránt érdekes élményt nyújthat.

5/4 - Kezdetben nehéz volt. Idegen. De örülök, hogy végül már szabadulni tőle volt ugyanilyen lehetetlen.

I have already read this book at least once in English too, and yet, at first it was pretty hard for me to read it this time. I frequently had to go back and read the previous pages one more time, because I just lost the line of the story and I couldn't concentrate on what was actually happening on the pages. Also from time to time I struggled to even imagine the scenery of the story. I couldn't picture what the characters saw around them. Granted it was probably because I was under the spell of the previous story. And well the pretty big time jump didn't help me either to place myself into this story again.

This story takes place 200 years after the previous one. And two significant event happened in this insalely long period of time. Evil didn't win a single fairy tale ever since the events in the end of the previous book and in every four years two 12+ years old kids disappears from a certain village called Gavaldon. One of them for the School for Good, the other one for the School for Evil.

One of our two protagonists is Sophie the classic beauty who can't wait to get kidnapped for the School for Good, because she is just sure she could be a perfect princess among the others. The other girl is Agatha and everyone thinks she is a witch, so her place is in the School for Evil. No questions. On that fateful day both girls got kidnapped but surprisingly they found themselves in the other school. They both think this has to be a huge mistake, so totally different desires start to work in both of them. Sophie wants to prove that she is Good, meanwhile Agatha just wants to get home with her friend. When the Storian suddenly starts to write the girls' fairy tale they realize that they have to work for their wishes to be granted. And in the meantime they HAVE TO look into their own souls. 

Like I said at first it was hard for me to read this book. But after a certain point I just couldn't step out of the story or put down the book. I just read and read one chapter after the other. Just like the characters I found my place in this story again as well. The end of the story is exceptionally exciting, and it just made me forget the hardships at the beginning and thanks to Rafal's brief apparance it was calming in a peculiar way. 

I recomend this book for those who love fairy tales. Its worldbuilding is just genius. It's full of adventures and problems waiting to be solved. And it was awesome because these hardships gave the characters enough time and space to grow and improve. It mentions important questions in a rich environment. It could be a good read for children and for adults with a child's soul as well.

5/4 - It was hard at the beginning. Straneg. But thank God, it became unputdownable (I can't believe I wrote this word down) at the end.
