Most is bebizonyosodott, hogy kĂ©ptelen vagyok a saját ostobaságombĂłl tanulni.
A fordĂtásba beleolvasva könnyebben emĂ©szthetĹ‘nek tűnik.

And everyone seems to love it to the moon and back. I thought I needed to see what was the reason of this serious hype. Yeah, it made me sure yet again, that I will never learn from my own stupidity. I should have known when everyone is drooling over a book, then I need to avoid it as far as I can. Seriously. I don't mean this book was bad per se, but it definitely didn't reach the bar I set for it based on all the good stuff I had heard about it.
The story runs on multiple timelines and in multiple places, in the middle of a serious war. Its spine is a bunch of letters written by two women to one another. The twist is that they should be mortal enemies. But the two enemies slowly became lovers through their letters. Through their words really. They fell for each other simply because they cared about one another, and they could express it. The story would have been great. The form is a great idea, because these letters and the way they get them from each other... This was the one thing what gave the real spine of the story. But it still lacks all the logic and this makes it hard to process, Not to mention the last grand twist which pushes the story in a full fledged time wrap. Needless to say it did not feel great.
Best case scenario: This story is forgettable. Worst case scenario: This book is seriously mixed up. The building of the emotional aspect saved it from being a DNF for me. Because that was beautiful. The way the emotional level got higher and higher. I really could appreciate the whole journey. Even if it was not nearly enough for me to love or simply even like this book.
For me it was a bit too all over the place. It was not easy to read it in English I have to admit that. I take a sneek peak into the Hungarian translation and as a Hungarian it might be easier for me. Or it would have been. Honestly, I don't really like the sci-fi genre to begin with, but for those who like it and maybe would enjoy some feelings as well, this could be a good pick.

5/3.5 - As I said, it didn't hit the bar, but there were parts I really did appreciate.
